If the author were to come to this school today, what is the very first step she would suggest in developing a more welcoming environment and as a non-certified teacher what can we do and where/how would we start?

The book seemed to be geared more toward teacher, parent, and student involvement. Although we do at times become the teacher, as paraprofessionals, we would not normally attend conferences. We would never contact a parent about their child's behavior or progress. We may, however, pass ideas on to our teacher and help with implementaion. What suggestions wouild you give just to paraprofessionals? Tena Miller/Yargo
